# Experience Points (XP)

## What are Experience Points (XPs)?

Experience points allow both creators and fans to level up in the Stream ecosystem, you will be awarded Level up bonus (XPacks) for each level that you've achieved. 

## How can I earn Experience Points? 

Experience points can be earned in multiple ways:

1. Participating and earning Gems as a fan or Shards as a creator automatically earns you XP.
2. Referrals and In-direct referrals earns you XP as well. More XP is awarded for direct referrals as compared to in-direct referrals.
3. Leveling up grants you XPacks where you can unpack for more XPs.
4. External quests or tasks such as Galxe and more to be introduced in the future.

## What are Experience Points for?

Experience points supplements your total Gems and Shard earnings contributing to the Stream leveling system. More details will be shared further down our roadmap on what your levels mean!
